Do I still need TWS or IB Gateway?

Yes. NeonChainX connects to the TWS or IB Gateway session on your machine. Keep TWS for login, charts, account, and multi-leg. NeonChainX is the options desk on that session.

Is NeonChainX for day trading and scalping options?

Yes. It is for IBKR options traders who watch several symbols, click to buy or close, and set TP/SL while the app is connected. Start on paper.

Can I paper trade first?

Yes. Use TWS port 7497 or IB Gateway port 4002. Same desk as live. Paper first is the intended path before scalping with real money.

How does the 7-day trial work?

Both plans start with 7 days free. If you do not cancel, the trial converts to paid at $40 per month or $400 per year. Cancel in the billing portal. No cancellation fee. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.

Does this make fills faster than TWS?

Accepted Answer

No. Fill times are set by Interactive Brokers and the venue. The app sends the order as soon as you click, with no batching and no extra confirmation steps inside NeonChainX.

Do you get my TWS login?

Accepted Answer

No. TWS login and IBKR credentials stay in TWS. Orders and quotes go between your machine and Interactive Brokers. We do receive diagnostic logs for support, and we check your license email and key.

Does TP/SL still run if I quit the app?

Accepted Answer

No. Take profit and stop loss are rules in the running app. Keep NeonChainX connected for them to fire. If you close the app, those rules stop. Use TWS if you need broker-side orders that survive quitting.

Can I trade multi-leg spreads?

No. NeonChainX is single-leg options: stock, index, and listed futures options. Use TWS for combo tickets and multi-leg strategies.

Does NeonChainX support futures options (ES, NQ, CL, etc.)?

Yes. As of v2.2.0, select Future in the Type dropdown and enter a root symbol. Supported products: E-mini S&P 500 (ES), Micro E-mini S&P 500 (MES), E-mini Nasdaq-100 (NQ), Micro E-mini Nasdaq-100 (MNQ), E-mini Russell 2000 (RTY), Crude Oil (WTI) (CL), Gold (GC). Micro Gold (MGC) often has no bid/ask in TWS, so quotes and mid orders may not work. Use GC instead. Full walkthrough: /docs/futures-options-ibkr. How do the Take Profit and Stop Loss triggers work?

Set TP/SL from the gear on a position. Triggers can use underlying price (stock, index, or futures) and/or option last traded price; both can be on. Yes. Smart defaults follow call vs put, and you can change TP/SL offsets and quantity-chip percents on the Risk & Sizing tab (Save Settings). Customize each position from the gear icon.

What happens if I manually close a position with active TP/SL rules?

A manual close or a size change disables those TP/SL rules so they cannot fire against a position that is gone or smaller.
